Cox service update regarding winter weather conditions

Cox Greater Louisiana is advising customers that due to widespread snow, sleet and ice across our region, and power outages, some customers may experience service issues.

“We are aware of power outages due to the snowstorm,” said Sharon Kleinpeter, vice president, Governmental and Public Affairs. “Our first concern is customer and employee safety. When conditions allow, field crews will be deployed to impacted areas. Customers do not need to call the Cox offices to report a service issue.”

 Customer How-To Tip:

As with recent hurricanes, Cox service may still work at certain locations even if power is lost. If a customer does not have power, but has a generator, they can receive Cox service if the signal to their home and their lines are not damaged:

·         First, plug your computer, television, digital converter and modem into the generator.

·         Second, connect your corded phone and computer directly to your modem phone jacks.

·        If the Cox lines to your neighborhood and house are in tact, you should receive services.
