Lower St. Martin Parish Mandatory Evacuation
Lower St. Martin Parish Mandatory Evacuation

St. Martin Parish Officials have ordered a mandatory evacuation for Lower St. Martin Parish and a recommended evacuation for upper St. Martin Parish. Residents of low lying areas prone to flooding and those living in mobile and manufactured homes are at great risk and must consider immediate evacuation.

For personal safety reasons, beginning at 12:00 noon on Monday, September 1, 2008, there will be a curfew in effect for St. Martin Parish. The curfew will remain in effect until it is safe for residents to travel throughout the Parish and until the Office of Emergency Preparedness lifts the curfew. Please stay tuned to your local news stations for information in relation to the curfew being lifted.  Law enforcement officials will be diligently patrolling the Parish and those individuals who are in violation of the curfew will be cited.  We are asking all residents for voluntary compliance.
