First Public School Flu Case
A student testing positive for Type A flu is the first flu case for Lafayette public schools. Superintendent Bernell Lemoine confirms one student has this strain of flu at Katharine Drexel Elementary in Broussard. The school is not closing. Lemoine says parents have been alerted, but the school will stay open, unless the state orders Katharine Drexel to close. The superintendent says the governor is not recommending shutting the school's doors. |
