CDC Testing Lafayette Public School Students for H1N1
CDC Testing Lafayette Public School Students for H1N1

Results are back for a child testing positive for Type A flu last week at Katharine Drexel Elementary - the test is negative for swine flu. There are now four new Type A cases at different schools, and samples have been sent to the Centers for Disease Control for swine flu testing. Gov. Jindal says suspected cases are being treated as probable, because 99-percent of samples sent to the CDC are returning positive for H1N1.

Lafayette Public Schools spokesperson Angie Simoneaux says testing involves one student at Prairie Elementary, one child at Gallet Elementary, one at Lafayette High and the parent of a child at SJ Montgomery Elementary. Results from a case last week at Comeaux High are not back yet. Simoneaux says no schools are closed at this time.
